Green Bay Packers (4-4-1)
v.
Seattle Seahawks (4-5)
Seattle Seahawks 27, Green Bay Packers 24 - Well, another memorable, nationally televised game between these two franchises took place last evening. It really looked like the Packers were dominating early on, taking a seemingly commanding 14-3 lead late in the first quarter, as they jumped all over Seattle in the early going.
But the Seahawks battled back, scoring two relatively quick touchdowns in the second quarter to take a lead, although Green Bay managed to get a touchdown to retake the lead just before halftime.
This really was a back and forth game, and it felt like the kind of game where the last team to have the ball would win. However, Seattle pulled off the winning touchdown drive with fully over five minutes left on the clock, as Ed Dickson hauled in a 15-yard pass from Russell Wilson for the touchdown, giving the Seahawks the late 27-24 lead. The defense made it stand up, as did, most likely, the fabled "12th Man" home crowd in Seattle.
Russell Wilson had a solid day for the Seahawks, completing 21 of 31 passes for 225 yards, with two touchdowns. Running back Chris Carson added 83 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries.
In a losing cause for Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers completed 21-30 passes for 332 yards and two touchdowns. Aaron Jones added 40 yards and one touchdown on 11 carries for the Pack.
The win gets the Seahawks to stop the bleeding from their recent two-game skid, and they now are very much alive in the playoff race as Thanksgiving rolls around. This loss for the Packers, however, was costly. They are still fostering active playoff hopes, but those hopes took a real hit with this defeat, and puts them in the position of being on the outside, looking in. They likely will need some help if they are to make a serious run to qualify for the postseason at this point.
