NFL 2018-19 Week 9 NFL TNF Review: 49ers Dismantle Raiders For Second Win of Season

Oakland Raiders

v.

San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco 34, Oakland 3- The 49ers surely have a new starting quarterback. Nick Mullens did not even know that he would be starting the game for San Francisco until just hours before it began. But man, he sure rose to the occasion! Mullens completed 16 of 22 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns, helping the 49ers in blowing out Oakland. His rival, Derek Carr, on the other side of the field, completed 16 of 21 for 171 yards, but the Raiders offense never came alive. Neither did the Raiders defense rise to the occasion, as they were overwhelmed by a balanced 'Niners attack. Raheem Mostert picked up 86 yards, including a 52-yard touchdown run. The 49ers snap a six game losing streak with this win, and along with it, extend the Raiders own losing streak to three straight losses. The Raiders and the Giants are now the only two teams remaining in the NFL with only one win on the season, and for the moment, they each have matching records of 1-7. San Francisco improves their record to 2-7, and will next host the Giants, another game that they have to feel is a winnable one. Rather amazingly, Raiders coach Jon Gruden did not back down or offer excuses, but instead insisted that they are building a title team in Oakland, or Las Vegas, or wherever the hell this team is heading, and when. He will either look like an absolute genius, or a numskull. Time will tell. My pick: Wildly Inaccurate
