Here is a blog entry that I never quite got around to publishing, for some reason. I have been going through some old posts, and trying to catch up, if you will, with some of these kinds of blog entries that never were actually published.

This one is from the 2014 trip that my son and brother took through New England and eastern Canada back in 2014. Specifically, this is from eastern Québec province, particularly the lighthouse near Rimouski, and a charming town called Trois-Pistoles, which my family and I visited back in 1991, I believe, and which stuck with me through the years. They even have their own beer, which I got to try some years ago, as well. In fact, I believe it was later during this trip.

In any case, yes, here is the blog entry from some years ago which I never did get around to publishing, for some reason. Cool pictures of the lighthouse and surrounding mountains across the St-Laurent, as well as a few pictures of the church and horse statue in Trois-Pistoles.

Enjoy!

Okay,  it is that time again.  My son and I are heading up to Canada for vacation. This year is extra special for a trip to Canada,  since this year marks 150 years since Confederation.

There are big celebrations scheduled,  and we are hoping to be a part of that. I will write about it,  one way or another,  but most likely not until we get back.

Here was another blog entry that never actually was published, even though Rimouski was one of those cities that I had heard about here and there, but to my best recollection, had never actually been to.

It is a medium sized town, really. But since Québec , and really all of Canada, is quite small, the town takes on a certain significance that it might not have were it, say, in the second biggest state in the United States, instead of the second biggest province in Canada.

Rimouski is a pleasant enough town, and it's proximity to the St. Laurent adds considerably to it's charms.

Not far from Rimouski is the lighthouse, which as you can tell from the pictures, is rather idyllic and picturesque, giving off wonderful views of both the St. Laurent and the surrounding mountains on both sides of the bay.

Our final night before reaching Quebec City was in Rimouski, a small city along the banks of the Saint Laurent.

It had some charm, with a main road lined with outdoor restaurants, in a typical Quebec style.

Certainly, the surrounding region is quite beautiful, blessed with abundant natural beauty.
