We drove through Mississippi, and it seemed to take forever. I had not known beforehand that parts of Mississippi were suburbs of Memphis. But once we got past that part of the state, it was just woods and fields and rain for what felt like forever. We stopped for gas and/or snacks three times. By the end, I just wanted to get to Alabama and to the hotel, as the rain started to pick up in intensity, as did my headache.
