Earlier today, I posted a blog entry on Paul McCartney. So might as well stay on the topic of the Beatles and post this one, which I have also been hanging onto for a few days now.
This is a link to an article that reinforces that McCartney and Lennon, despite some obvious differences and tensions, were nevertheless friends, before anything else.
Indeed, I think that this is most likely true, at that. Sure, they fought and disagreed at times. There were some fairly tense moments. But the two of them grew up together, at least since their teens. They obviously went through a lot together, the ups and downs (mostly ups, at least beyond a certain point). And despite drifting apart, they had all of that in common, and so remained close brothers in music, and in spirit, I believe.
