Jaromir Jagr Scores Goal in Professional Czech League at 50

Back when I was still just a junior in high school, back in 1991, the Pittsburgh Penguins, led by superstars Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr, won the first Stanley Cup championship in franchise history. It was the first of two straight Cups championships that the Penguins would win, largely behind the incredible talent of their two superstars. Everyone knew that Lemieux was a great hockey player, but the addition of young Jagr really pushed that team up to rank among the elites in the league. They both could score goals, and were huge threats for opposing teams.

Well, here we are. It is 2023, and I am 48 years old. Now, I have a son who is a junior in high school. And Jaromir Jagr just scored another goal.

True, it is not with the Pittsburgh Penguins, or even any NHL franchise. It was with the Kladno Knights of the Czech Extraliga, a club now owned by Jagr. But he was in uniform and playing this season and, yes, he just scored his first goal of the season, at 50, and just a month shy of his 51st birthday.

Incredible!

Below is a link to this story, as well as a video clip of the goal that he scored. It was the only goal his team scored in that game, which was a 3-1 loss. Still, what a feat!
