A couple of days ago, I posted about some headlines on the alarming story of how nowadays, a majority of Americans apparently cannot afford healthcare.
Robert Reich has become one of my personal favorite social media influencers, if that is what they are called, in recent years. That has been especially true during this sad era of Donald Trump dominating American politics. While healthcare has been a hot topic used as a political football of sorts in the United States for literally decades now, we should remember that one of the major campaign promises when Trump ran in 2016 was that he would build a national healthcare system that would be affordable and would cover everyone. Moreover, he doubled down and claimed that it would be easy, on top of it.
So the glaring failure that is our present-day healthcare system can be laid at his feet.
Not that he cares. I personally have long believed that that pathetic and small man literally does not care about anything or anyone other than himself and his very narrow self-interests. What does he care that a majority of Americans are suffering or cannot afford healthcare, even though he promised to create a much better and fairer system? He outright has stated things lately which had betrayed his actual level of indifference. Let's remember that he admitted that the financial realities and struggles of everyday Americans rarely ever crosses his mind. Let's also remember that he claimed the whole affordability issue is not real, that it is a mere Democratic hoax.
What a man of the people.
But this issue is real. And clearly, affordability is not just a small issue when it comes to the American healthcare system, but the central issue. And it is no mere Democratic hoax, as Dear Leader claims it to be.
Keep in mind that King Con Don was born into immense privilege and wealth. So he hardly has to worry about the everyday realities which most Americans face. And he has shown very clearly, time and time again, that he does not care.
Thus, we need to turn to other figures to address these very real issues. And one of them, of course, is Robert Reich.
Below is what Reich recently posted after this alarming statistic became known via headlines (although somehow, not enough headlines seemed to cover this).
Take a look at what he had to say about it:
