France won the big showdown with Norway. I was getting ready for a tense game between two top teams, battling to win their group.
Instead, Norway seemed content to have won their first two games to advance to the knockout stage. So they rested their starters and biggest players.
Which meant that the French side was not playing Norway at full strength, so they rolled to a convincing 4-1 win.
Kylian Mbappé scored a hat trick. Those three goals bring his total in this tournament to 7. He now has scored 19 goals in his World Cup career, which means that, for now, he has passed Lionel Manuel for the most goals scored by anyone all-time in World Cup history.
Now, France will play Sweden on June 30th in the first round of knockout games.
