By now, everyone knows and should understand that Trump clearly never made good on his promise to lower the price of gas and groceries, which was such a huge part of his 2024 campaign that most people would credit it as the central issues behind him winning the election. But he has now lowered the price or reined inflation in quickly, as promised. In fact, the price of gas still feels very unstable, thanks mostly to Mr. Trump's war with Iran. It still feels like the price of gas can go up overnight if anything happens to destabilize it further in an already volatile region.
Yet, Trump himself seemed not too concerned about how Americans are suffering. Infamously, he claimed that harsh economic realities Americans are facing really does not cross his mind. He also said that he loved inflation, which is a comment of such stupidity and arrogance, thinking that he is above it all and does not personally need to worry about it, that it is frankly astonishing that more Americans did not immediately call for him to be removed from office.
But that's Trump for you, isn't it? All of those people who somehow thought that this man actually cared for them still might need more proof that he does not care about them. For the rest of us, however, it became abundantly clear a long, long time ago. In fact for some people, like me, we never believed that he cared about the American people to begin with.
All he cares about is himself. Is that somehow not clear yet? To that end, not only has he not divorced himself from his personal businesses, as pretty much all modern American presidents have done, but he is once again, typically, flaunting all of the wealth which he has obtained while in office.
What a guy, right?
Indeed, he and his family have generated $1.4 billion in income from crypto alone.
Yes when asked about it, Trump once again sounded dismissive and reminded everybody yet again that they should be thankful to him at all times, and for all good things that are happening. For everything, obviously. Because we know his logic by now, don't we? Everything good is due to him, and everything bad is someone else's fault.
Here is how he replied when asked about him personally profiting while president:
“You know why I’m profiting? Because the stock market’s going up. Everybody’s profiting.”
“Do you have a 401k?” the 80-year-old billionaire continued, as he showed off his new Qatari-gifted luxury jet on Wednesday.
“How’s your 401k done? It’s up about 85 per cent. Thank you, President Trump. So we’re all profiting. I’m profiting because I have a lot of money and a lot of cash and I give it to institutions (to invest on his behalf). I don’t know if they know what they’re doing or not, but they buy a vast array of things.”
This should be concerning to everyone. Once again, Trump equates all economic success with how the stock market is doing, then touts his own success. How does an elitist like him get away with such a broad strokes claim that "everyone" is profiting? The vast majority of Americans I know do not feel like they are doing very well, even Trump supporters. Somehow, though, they never hold him accountable for any of this.
Then let's think about how he is bragging about fortunes made, as well as the $400 million luxury jet that he was gifted. Let's please remember that the $400 million Qatari "gift of love" that has been refurbished at taxpayer expense is a personal gift to Trump. Sure, he is using it while still in office. But once he is out of office, it will still belong to him as a private citizen. So he used tax funds for costly improvements and modifications made on his personal jet. How is it that MAGA never seem to get outraged about stories of blatant corruption relating to their beloved guy, to Dear Leader himself?
And how is it that this guy just keeps bragging and bragging about his own largesse?
Once again, what a guy, right?
Does Trump have his priorities straight?
Well, he does seem fixated on all of his vanity projects. And yes, that still very much includes a desire to have his ugly orange face on Mount Rushmore (see link to the Wall Street Journal article on it below).
Good to see that the president still is grounded in reality and is keeping focused on trying to do the best for the American people, even at the cost of self-sacrifice, eh?
