According to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Trump is apparently on the verge of declaring a State of Emergency in order to get funds to build his border wall for his manufactured crisis.
Interesting, and more than a little sad, that McConnell is so strongly allied to the White House on this issue, that he seems so willing to forgo the supposedly treasured tradition of the system of checks and balances between the branches of government, in order to not allow any one branch to become too powerful.
Even more interesting, Trump himself once described such executive actions as clearly and unquestionably illegal. But that was in 2014, when Barack Obama was in the White House. Here is what he told Fox and Friends in November of 2014, about the possibility that Obama would do what he himself now is apparently about to do:
"Now he has to use executive action and this is a very, very dangerous thing that should be overwritten easily by the Supreme Court."
"So we're looking now at a situation, it should absolutely not pass muster in terms of constitutionality, but it depends on what these justices do."

It is expected that this State of Emergency will be immediately challenged by Democrats, and numerous civil rights groups, immediately in the courts. Many view this as a dangerous power move by a notoriously power-hungry president.
Clearly, this is not what a State of Emergency is declared over. A real State of Emergency would be declared immediately after an actual crisis of some sort or another, and not threatened to be used, and ultimately used, as some kind of political football.
Fake crisis. Fake President!
This is the article that I used in obtaining the information used in writing this blog entry, particularly the quotes used above:

Plus, even if you buy into his story that there's an emergency at the border and that a wall therefore needs to be built – I obviously don't subscribe to that view, but let's assume that position for the sake of argument – why was that state of emergency not declared in his first two years in office, when Republicans held a majority in both the Senate and the House of Representatives? And wasn't Mexico supposedly going to foot the bill, according to his meaningless campaign promises? I'm sure he was worried sick about all of this while he was playing golf at Mar-a-Lago, or during all of that "executive time" that seems to comprise a hefty portion of his daily schedule.
