Trump Undermines Own Arguments Against His Manufactured "National Emergency"

Can this man even help himself from doing and saying ridiculous things that undermine his own credibility?

Here is one thing that Trump said right in the middle of his "national crisis" speech:

"I could do the wall over a longer period of time. I didn't need to do this."

Donald Trump, during his own speech justifying the "national emergency." After the speech, he went to go play a few rounds of golf. Because nothing reveals the extent of your concern over a "national crisis" than fitting in a few rounds of golf, right?

Most national emergencies are declared after something truly and irrefutably tragic has happened, and are not used as some kind of political football, or threatened political maneuvers over the course of months. Also, why did he not get the funding for this "national crisis" when his own party was in control for the past two years?

In a joint statement, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., suggested that what Trump refers to as a "national crisis" is more a crisis of his own failed leadership:

"This is plainly a power grab by a disappointed president, who has gone outside the bounds of the law to try to get what he failed to achieve in the constitutional legislative process."

Not a big fan of either Pelosi or Schumer, but that pretty much sums it up.
