Earlier today, I posted something about how ridiculous Trump's ego is, and how sad it is that tens of millions of Americans want to bask in the flashlight beam of Trump's personal MAGAlomania, while ignoring their truer potential, which could be as bright as the sun, if they so allowed it.
In that piece, I alluded to the idea that Trump goes to extremes and outright lies in his personal approach, which has now been extended, obviously, to his approach towards the office of the presidency which he now, sadly, holds.
Not surprisingly, Trump has picked like-minded people to populate his administration. We have seen this numerous times already, with Trump, typically inflating how great some of these people are, often only to turn around and completely trash them later on, when they do something that displeases him.
But right now, he picked somebody new, William Happer, to lead a panel exploring whether climate change is a serious national threat or not.
Happer feels as Trump does, and his stance on it is that the whole climate change thing is a hoax, and does not pose a real threat. Here is one absolutely ridiculous thing that Happer said in this regard just a few years ago, in 2014 according to an article by John Whitehouse:
So much so, in fact, that he said that people deserve to learn "the scientific truth, that more CO2 is actually a benefit to the earth" rather than a pollutant. In a 2014 appearance on CNBC's Squawk Box, Happer told host Andrew Ross Sorkin the "demonization of carbon dioxide is just like the demonization of the poor Jews under Hitler."
Yes, Trump actually picked someone who is comparing people concerned with the impact of climate change to Hitler and the Nazi persecution of the Jews.
Absolutely ridiculous.
Also absolutely consistent with what we have seen, and know, of the Trump administration.
Are you surprised? Yeah, neither am I.
