Trump Once Again Cries & Whines Like a Snowflake About How He is Portrayed on 'SNL'

When I was a kid, Saturday Night Live had some political skits. In fact, these were what I liked the most, and got me especially into the show. It kind of made me feel better about the grim political situation in this country as I saw it. In fact, it always felt like they did not do political skits nearly enough, even though they probably did it quite often.

Of course, these days, we have even more reason to see SNL political skits. The situation has likely never been more dire, certainly not in recent decades, anyway.

It is so bad, that it would almost be laughable, if it were not so tragic. The worst aspect of it is that while American politics, and particularly the Trump White House, seems downright comical at time, they are actually deadly serious. Trump clearly is a man who takes himself way too seriously, with his ridiculously exaggerated ego. One British writer nailed it, which I wrote about yesterday. Here is what Nate White had to say about Trump from the perspective of British humour (used the British spelling of the word):

"While Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing – not once, ever.

"I don’t say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility – for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman.

"But with Trump, it’s a fact. He doesn’t even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty. "

Frankly, that sounds just about right. While Trump and his antics might be a joke, he himself clearly does not view it that way. This man is an overgrown child, with a child's understanding, and usually a child's solution, to the biggest problems that face the United States. He always assumes that he is the smartest and the best at everything, even after he demonstrates quite the opposite, and these failures of his have never been as glaringly obvious as since he has become such a major figure in American politics, and particularly since he ascended to the White House. Literally, Trump feels like a cruel joke played on the nation.

In fact, the situation is so bad, that many feel a need to try and let a little bit of the steam out through humor (back to the American spelling of that word now). And one of the most famous comedy shows that regularly makes fun of Donald Trump is, of course, Saturday Night Live.

Now, Trump received a lot of criticism - and I do mean a lot of criticism - following his declaring a state of emergency on Friday in order to receive more funding for his vanity border wall along the Mexican border. I did not watch it, but most people seem to feel that this was his worst, most incoherent speech yet, and given the extensive length of the list of poor speeches that Trump has given, that is really saying something! More on that in another post.

But Saturday Night Live obviously had to make fun of that in this weekend's show. They had Alec Baldwin once again as Trump, and once again, Baldwin absolutely nailed the essence of Trump.

Of course, President Trump himself clearly took exception and offense, like the melting snowflake that he is, much like his supporters. He suggested that the coverage of him is unfair, biased - you know, the usual garbage. Because while he claimed as a candidate that he would be too busy to play golf, he seems not only to have plenty of time to play one round of golf after another, but he has way too much time to go on mean-spirited, petty little attacks through his ridiculous tweets that are so stupid and immature, that it is frankly mind-numbing to think about. Instead of seriously working on resolving the seemingly countless problems now facing the nation, he prefers to play golf and bitch about the stupidest things with his Twitter account. Even his political supporters kind of roll up their eyes when the topic is his tweets.

Being as petty as Trump is, he could not let it go. He cried about it, about how unfairly this spoiled brat of a billionaire is treated. Boo-hoo. Here's the world's tiniest violin for his suffering.

Maybe if he would spend less time focusing on feeling sorry for himself, and more time trying to understand the things that actually hurt working class Americans, he might do a better job in the position that he should never have been trusted with in the first place.

Then again, he is so incompetent, that it often feels like the more time he spends distracted with meaningless things like this, the less time he has to completely botch the job that he has been so ridiculously entrusted with by the one-third of Americans who support this clown act.

Here is the link to the story about Trump taking offense to SNL's portrayal of him - yet again:
