A Visit to Ithaca, NY - Buttermilk Falls & Downtown (Part One)

My son and I are presently on a mini vacation. Having missed the opportunity of visiting my mom's home during the holidays due to unforeseen circumstances, we had planned another visit for the springtime. In particular, it would have to be a time when my son was also off from school, so we could both make the trip.

Turned out to happen for Easter weekend. So this Easter was kind of a mixture of a Christmas and Easter gettogether.

There was some extra time in the days while we were here, and so we all agreed to visit someplace relatively close. As it turns out, that place wound up being Ithaca, New York.

The first place we stopped at was at Buttermilk Falls State Park.  We then visited the campus of Cornell University, one of the most prestigious universities in the country. An Ivy League school. Then, we paid a brief visit to downtown Ithaca for a bite to eat.

A later post will show the pictures that I took during our visit to Cornell. Here, however, are a few pictures that I took of the rest of the visit to Ithaca. Most are of the beautiful Buttermilk Falls. However, there is one of a sculpture. There were a few artsy sculptures and displays on the sidewalks in Ithaca, which felt like it added a bit of character and even beauty to the downtown.
