Numerous High Profile Pro Athletes Are Making Public Their Refusal to Pay $8 for Twitter's Blue Checkmarks

Over the weekend, I saw all of these stories popping up about how some high profile athletes are saying no to the ridiculous charges that Twitter appears to be demanding from famous and/or established users.

In particular, LeBron James and Patrick Mahomes appear to be leading the charge with refusing to pay for these services, opting to let go of their accounts instead.

What do you think? Is this actually some kind of meaningful movement? Are they simply being cheap? How will Elon Musk and/or Twitter respond?

Should be interesting to see what will happen.
