Cormac McCarthy Had Just Taken on Responsibility of Writing John Hillcoat's Film Adaptation of Blood Meridian Before He Died

This was something which I meant to publish maybe a week or so ago, and never quite got around to doing. But then, of course, the distinguished author died, unfortunately. I had not fully finished writing and/or editing this, but I will leave it untouched and publish this as is, excited as I was about the prospect of McCarthy himself writing the screenplay for Blood Meridian, which I imagine would be a very difficult book to successfully translate into a movie. Here was what I wrote: 

Cormac McCarthy movies tend to be difficult to translate into movies. Some are successful, notably "No Country For Old Men" and "The Road." Both of those movies remained true to the books, and were rather well done.

Still, McCarthy's works sometimes feel like they would be quite difficult to translate onto the silver screen. 

Yet, there is one book which seems more than even his other works to be a daunting task to try and convert into movie format. That would be "Blood Meridian."
