On my first day in Paris during this recent trip, I made a point of trying to visit Notre Dame Cathedral. This I did on Wednesday, May 21st.
Just after my visit, I hung out a bit in front of the cathedral. It began to rain, and I went under the trees. It was then that I ran into one of the Citroën 2CV's which I managed to get pictures of (this was the all black one).
However, the real highlight was that the bells began to chime. It took me by surprise, and so the very beginning of this short video slip is admittedly a bit chaotic. Part of the reason was that I was scrambling to get the cell phone camera going, afraid that I would miss the bells.
As it turns out, I need not have worried. The bells went on for over nine minutes. So there was actually plenty of time. In fact, I began to wonder how long the bells would keep chiming, and if I was not using too much of my limited storage space.
Still, I managed to get the full bit of this particular chiming, and it seemed worth sharing here.
Now, there are things beyond my control which are also in this video. That includes police or ambulance sirens sounding several different times. Also, you can hear people talking and, I think, the sound of rain and traffic passing by.
Nevertheless, I was glad to have gotten all of this on video, and am sharing it here.
Enjoy.
