So this has kind of become a common post each year. My girlfriend goes off to Poland to spend time with family and friends for a few weeks.
When she does, I am the one who takes her to Newark Airport. That was what we did last evening, braving the sometimes severe thunderstorms last evening. She wanted me to come in with her while she got the boarding pass, and then accompany her to the security check, which of course I did.
Afterwards, it seemed like a good idea to pick up some Portuguese from Burnet BBQ in nearby Union. When I worked in that town, it would be a good meal option for Friday for lunch, because it was usually enough for two meals. Since I worked then (as I still do now) on the weekends, I would bring it for a second meal the next day.
And it's really good. Very tasty.
Yeah, that seemed like a good idea, so I went ahead and placed an order to pick up. Before I left, though, I noticed that the terminal was unusually colorful. It was lit up for Pride month, obviously. And while I am not gay, it certainly added a touch of color at Newark Liberty.
Below are some of the pictures.
Enjoy.
And here's wishing her a wonderful trip and safe return.
