Novak Djokovic Keeps Adding To His Already Considerable Legacy

A picture taken during the Stars of the Open evening at last year's US Open, August, 2024. Novak Djokovic - the tall guy wearing a light blue shirt in the far corner of the tennis court - was being introduced to the crowd. Also on the court are Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, and Carlos Alcaraz.

Novak Djokovic continues to make history.

Yesterday, he defeated German Alexander Zverev, the number 3 ranked man in the world right now. In fact, he made it look relatively easy, at least after dropping the first set.

In so doing, he became the oldest man to qualify for the French Open semifinals since Richard Gonzales managed the feat at 40 years old back in 1968.

Also, Djokovic became only the second man - Nadal being the first - to reach 100 career wins at Roland Garros.

Quite impressive.

His path will not get any easier, however. Next, he will face world number one Jannik Sinner of Italy.

In the other semifinal, Spaniard and defending French Open Champion Carlos Alcaraz will take on Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the world number eight who seems to be having a very impressive French Open tournament this year.

Should be interesting.
