Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-4) at Dallas Cowboys (2-2)
The Bucs cannot seem to get anything right so far this season.
I mean, granted, they will win a game this season, eventually. And hell, with how poor the NFC South is currently, they may even still have a chance at winning the division and hosting a playoff game. Remember, the Panthers won the division title last season with a losing record. So the Bucs definitely are not out of it yet, despite their dismal, 0-4 record at the moment.
For that matter, their opponents this week also have had their share of problems. The Dallas Cowboys came into this season with a lot of hype, as always. But they have suffered some disappointing losses that made them look bad, particularly on the defensive end. They lost to the G-Men in week 1 and the Ravens in Rio a couple of weeks back.
So both of these teams have some real issues and sources of concern.
That said, the Cowboys may have their issues, but they are not in the state of total chaos and disarray that Tampa Bay find themselves in at this point. Absolutely nothing has gone right for the Bucs to this point this season.
Frankly, heading into this one, it feels more difficult than usual to see why the Bucs would really have a shot in this one. I have picked them a couple of times already this season, and have been burned for it. Granted, there is always a chance that this might be the game where they finally put it all together.
However, I just do not see much of a reason heading into this game that encourages me to think that Tampa Bay actually will find a way to win.
Granted, Dallas has some problems. But they are still a talented team, especially on offense. The 'Boys are still playoff contenders and, on their best day, They are a good team when they can put it all together, and they need this win, locked as they are in a tight battle in the NFC East with both Philly and the Giants and, you never know, maybe Washington.
So Dallas needs this win, and they should be able to get it against a basket case kind of a team in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in this one.
My pick: Dallas
