Pope Francis was voted the "Man of the Year" for 2013 by Time magazine, and I think this is with good reason.
Indeed, it seemed that pretty much anytime that you turned around, he was making news, one way or the other.
For that matter, most of the news that I heard was, by and large, good news. There were positive messages coming out of the guy, and at least so far, he seems to be legit. His faith is something that brings out the best in people, rather than focusing on being divisive, judgmental, and holier than thou, which other prominent figures often tend to be.
I, for one, have been impressed with almost everything that I heard from the man thus far, and feel he has been a refreshing change for the Vatican, and the Catholic Church in general. This is a man I can believe feels a calling in his faith, and a calling not only to be a better man, but to help others be better, as well.
That is not a minor thing, and it is the reason why I keep writing about him, generally in admiring terms.
Yet, I was not aware of everything that he had done. I happened on this article, and was amazed at how many other great things the man has done, and generally the great things that this man symbolizes, that I had not even heard about.
So, just figured it would be cool to share it here, if you are interested. Here is the link:
