NHL Playoffs Update for September 16, 2020

Last night, the New York Islands faced potential elimination by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The game was tough, and remained tight from beginning to end. It was nodded up at 1-1 at the end of regulation, and the first overtime session remained scoreless as well.

However, Jordan Eberle of the Islanders saw captain Anders Lee win a battler for a loose puck against Tampa Bay’s Kevin Shattenkirk, and he raced up the middle. Ultimately, he got the pass from Lee and made it count, beating Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy for the game winning goal.

The win by the Islanders keeps them alive, giving them a chance to bring the series back to even should they win Game 6 and force the deciding Game 7.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether or not that happens. But at least the Islanders fought hard and managed to stay alive last night.

Game 6 will be played tomorrow night at 8pm EST.
