Trump Not Only Would Not Defend NATO Allies, But He Actively Encouraged Russia to Attack NATO Countries

Once again, there are comments by Trump that boggle the imagination. Once again, it makes you wonder just how in the hell this guy ever got popular enough among the voters in this country that he was actually elected to the highest office in the land. Worse, that after a full term of four years of utter and extreme bullshit, he might actually win another term in office. 

What I really don't get about this is that many self-identified conservatives and/or Republicans would still look up to Ronald Reagan as the model. Many idolized him. Now, I'm not personally a big fan of Reagan, but I know that one thing in which he was abundantly clear was regarding his distrust of the Russians. He famously warned of the Russian bear, and repeatedly - some might suggest endlessly - sounded off on how the Soviet Union was the "Evil Empire."

So how is it that Putin, who made no secret that he was a prominent figure in the Soviet Union, and who mourned it's downfall, is now viewed almost as a hero by many people on the right? How is it that this man, who invaded Ukraine - a sovereign country - is now regarded almost as a hero? And how can Republicans and self-identified conservatives (especially people who would consider themselves "Reagan conservatives") now suddenly would support a Republican candidate who outright is suggesting that he would encourage Putin's Russia to invade NATO countries and to do whatever the hell they want? 

Don't get me wrong, I think that the war in Ukraine is actually more complicated, and I do believe that Russia has legitimate reasons, historically speaking, to be nervous about the expansion of NATO closer to their borders. However, to see a moron who thinks himself a "very stable genius" advocate for Russia to invade even more countries is incredibly irresponsible? 

When will enough be enough? When are Republicans going to finally be able to get past their frankly sick and sickening Trump fixation? When will the political dominance King Con Don and his Cult 45 finally come to a damn end?
