There's an asteroid out there who's financial value - if it were here on Earth, and easy for us to mine and obtain it's valuables, that is - would be through the roof.
Well, I don't know. If it were here on Earth, then all of those precious resources would be here, and that would mean that the supply would bring down the demand. The price of those precious metals would obviously go down, and...
I digress. This asteroid is not accessible to us. And so it has all of these precious valuables which would likely make many people very rich here.
Maybe this will be the impetus for greater space exploration, and for the technology that allows us possibly to go farther out in space, to colonize, and for longer term space exploration and even space mining.
Let's see if it happens. It might be things like this that push us to it.
