Yes, I am beginning the posts on the Super Bowl now.
The big game itself is now only a few days away. Well, three, to be precise.
So since I have not yet done a preview or anything, I am posting this. Another link about the Buffalo Bills of the 1990's, a team that, for some reason, I have been remembering quite a bit in recent weeks and months.
Remember, they went to four straight Super Bowls (still a record that they are the sole owners of), but lost all four (another record, albeit a dubious one). They did enjoy some very impressive achievements, including what was until recently undeniably the greatest comeback in NFL history, just weeks before this paper (The Record from Middletown, New York, on January 31, 1993, see pictures above and below) came out.
In the picture, Buffalo running back great Thurman Thomas is pictured during the AFC Championship Game which had taken place just two weeks earlier, when the Bills had dominated the Dolphins in Miami, 29-10. That allowed them to qualify for their third straight Super Bowl, which at that point matched the same Dolphins franchise, which had gone to three straight Super Bowls themselves back in the 1970's. Since then, the New England Patriots also managed to reach three straight from the 2016-2018 seasons.
However, both the Dolphins and the Patriots won two of those three straight Super Bowls that they participated in. Unfortunately, of course, Buffalo lost all four. Below is a link to an article which suggests that this makes those Bills the Rasputins of the NFL.
Do you agree?
