Sometimes, someone with a high profile who generally has a decent public reputation seems to unravel the more he or she opens their mouth.
This has been the case with current Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
For a long time, Rodgers seemed like one of the most impressive star athletes in sports. He was excellent on the field of play, and seemed to carry himself with dignity and style.
Nobody will deny his obvious football talent. He truly has been one of the elite quarterbacks of all-time.
Yet, this seems to have given him a sense of entitlement about a lot of things, as well. In recent years, it feels to me like the more he opens his mouth and lets you know who he is away from the football field, the less you wish you knew about him.
As a Jets fan, it annoyed me that Gang Green invested heavily in obtaining him, and that he reflected a sense of entitlement about his assumptions that the Jets would be going to the Super Bowl. He went out with a season-ending injury after only four plays in the season opener. Yet, he is still talking about how he seems to feel that a Super Bowl appearance next season is a foregone conclusion.
That hardly seems smart.
Worse, however, were his comments insinuating that late night comedian Jimmy Kimmel was on Brian Epstein's list, which implies that he is named as one of those celebrity pedophiles. That's a serious charge, and not one that you make lightly, or even jokingly. At least not in public, not if you are a high-profile individual.
Apparently, I am not the only one who is a bit tired of Rodgers and his entitled behavior. Below is a link to an article with someone who obviously takes exception with Rodgers and his recent behavior. Take a look:
