The NFL will be going to South America next season.
Yes, there will be a game played in São Paulo, Brazil. It will be the first time that there is ever an NFL game in South America. This will also be the first time that there will be a regular season game on a Friday.
The Philadelphia Eagles will be the hosts of the game, although the official visiting team has yet to be determined.
The NFL has already played games in numerous other countries. There have been regular season games in Europe, in both Britain and Germany. Canada has also hosted some games, particularly Bills games. And Mexico has hosted a regular season games. All of those countries have hosted preseason games, as has Tokyo, Japan, and even once in Sydney, Australia. With this upcoming game, that will mean that Africa will remain the only inhabited continent yet to host an NFL game, either preseason or regular season.
