Legendary Rock Band R.E.M. Reunite (Sort Of)

So this happened just a couple of days ago: the legendary band R.E.M. reunited on stage (not musically) for the first time in a very long time.

It happened in Georgia, the band's home state, during a tribute to their musical album "Murmur."

Here is a brief description from an article by Tom Skinner of NME.com:

All four members of the band – Michael Stipe, Bill Berry, Peter Buck and Mike Mills – made an unexpected return at the 40 Watt Club venue in their home city of Athens, Georgia yesterday (February 8).

The 460-capacity space was hosting the latest show of actor Michael Shannon and musician Jason Narducy’s current tour – which sees the pair play 1983’s ‘Murmur’ in full along with a handful of their favourite R.E.M. songs.

No real promise of a more meaningful reunion with that anytime soon.

Still, pretty cool.
