Kahlil Gibran's Gives His Reflection on Silence, Solitude, & the Courage to Know Yourself April 10th

Today marks the anniversary of the death of Kahlil Gibran, who died on this day in 1931.

Gibran is a writer who I have been impressed with since my preteen years, ever since I was first introduced to him and his writings in summer camp back in Frost Valley, in upstate New York, back in the summer of 1986.

That was when I first learned of him, and specifically, the work he is most famous for here in the United States, "The Prophet."

As an adult, I have gained a whole new level of appreciation for his works, and the poetry and beauty of his descriptive language. Indeed, I would recommend his writings to anyone, regardless of faith. He really was one of the kindest and most beautiful souls, and his words endure long after he left this world (a little better for his having been a part of it).

Anyway, this article was interesting, and seemed worth sharing here.

Enjoy.
