Just a day or two ago, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Kid Rock decided to make a video of the two of them working out. It shows Kennedy plunging into ice water while wearing his jeans. The video also shows Kid Rock showing off his trademark class and maturity by giving the middle finger to the camera while on a stationary bike.
Of course, Kid Rock's music is playing in the background. The two men are shown at various angles working out. Then the message to work out and eat real food comes on.
The woman in the video - I am not entirely sure who she is - points out how absurd all of this is. This is a video released by the American government. Kid Rock, with his history of racism, drug use and partying, hardly seems the idea picture of good health habits for Americans. And she rightly points out that all of this seems like one more attempt to distract from what the Trump White House is doing without screaming headlines, like getting rid of EPA protections against climate change.
This is the height of absurdity.
Yet, it also feels like just a typical day - and a typical play - by Trump's White House.
