Super Bowl LX First Half Thoughts

Okay, so I have never done this before. A blog entry for halftime, assessing the game to this point

Seemed like something worth trying.

The most obvious thing is that so far, the defenses on both sides are dictating the tempo of the game. Seattle's defense is preventing New England from getting any kind of a rhythm. But it feels to me like the Patriots defense has come closer to forcing a potentially disastrous turnover.

One thing that bothered me with Seattle's offensive approach to this point was that for a long stretch, they seemed to forget about their running game. They have had some success when they have run the ball. So why not try to establish the run a bit more? Take what the defense gives you.

A clean game so far, for the most part
Few penalties, no turnovers so far.

For Seattle, I think they should keep doing what they are doing. Stay patient, don't force anything or take too many chances. Let your defense keep the Pats in check, and look for the few opportunities that New England’s defense gives you.

As for the Patriots, try to establish the running game. Be patient, and try to generate something positive. Drake Maye might need to take chances soon if Seattle's defense remains this stingy and overwhelming. Especially if the Pats remain scoreless and Seattle gets more points. Even another field goal, if the Pats remain scoreless, would make it dire. Then they would likely have to take chances.

One stat immediately comes to mind. This is it: no team which was shut out through the first half has come back to win. That said, there is a first time for everything, right?

To this point, only one really good or memorable commercial
That would be the Good Will Hunting Dunkin commercial. Pretty funny.

Very early thoughts on the MVP. So far, definitely not going to either quarterback. Maybe Kooper Cupp. Or a member of the winning defense. Hell, at this rate, it might be either kicker for Seattle, the place kicker or the punter, if the game keeps going the way it has to this point.

Alright, that's it from my end for now. Enjoy the second half.
