We all know what a superpatriot hero we have right now serving in the Oval Office, right?
Yes, everyone's favorite hero, the man that some people believe virtually walks on water. Your friend and mine, the "Real" Donald Trump.
Trump went to Europe this week for some meetings in Britain and Ireland, and then went to France to honor the sacrifices of World War II veterans who, 75 years ago yesterday, stormed the beaches in the first effort to take back western Europe from Nazi German occupation.
Luckily, it did not rain, so Trump actually showed up this time to honor the efforts of brave troops who gave their lives for their country, and indeed, to help make a better world for us all. We all remember that Trump could not be bothered to actually show up last November on the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, because it was raining.
Well, Trump explained his own strange history with the military. He said that he would have liked to join the military (and indeed, he got an elite military education. It was just that there was a war on that he did not like over in Vietnam, you see. Trump likes to pass judgement on war veterans who actually served and suffered in Vietnam, most notably John McCain, who he still attacks even though McCain died.
Trump did not serve, but at least he is claiming that he would have liked to serve his country, if not for the fact that he did not like the Vietnam War. Of course, he has no problem threatening war on any nation that dares disagree with the United States, even threatening to wipe them off the map and out of existence officially. He basically made such claims against North Korea and Iran.
What a hero, eh?
