What appeared to be a news story that might earn some raised eyebrows, or perhaps no more than a chuckle, is suddenly seeming like a much bigger story right now.
Yes, Attorney General William Barr complained that Trump’s tweets were making his job impossible. But of course, Trump has received other criticisms regarding his tweets, even from political allies. Usually, this is a relatively mild form of criticism among fans and supporters of Trump, akin to a slap on the wrist.
That is what this story seemed to be, at least at first.
Suddenly, though, legal experts are weighing in, and suggesting that, in fact, this “criticism” by Barr seems a little too convenient and even orchestrated. Just like that, there felt like a lot more to this story than met the eye.
What would be the point to him engaging in pretend criticism of Trump? My guess is to appear both critical and independent, like he is willing to criticize and stand up to President Trump, even though that instinctively feels false, because they are clearly political allies, and Barr has bent over backwards to do Trump’s bidding.
Trump, who is the most fake human being that I know, blasts any and all critics of him and his presidency as "fake." Yet, if this proves true, even criticisms of Trump's conduct within the White House itself would prove fake and tinged with some kind of hidden agenda.
Unbelievable.
