Here is a list of the most miserable states of the US, according to a recent Gallup-Healthways survey.
Not surprisingly, West Virginia and Kentucky rank number one and number two on the list. They always seem to rank high on such lists. West Virginia has apparently been on the "top' of this list for five consecutive years now.
The rest of the states listed were predominately in southern regions, with Missouri and Ohio being the exceptions - and it should be noted that they both border southern states - Arkansas in the case of Missouri, and Kentucky in the case of Ohio.
There are statistics giving some facts about the states.
