NFL 2019-20 Week 9 Thursday Night Football Preview - Undefeated 49ers Visit Arizona For Divisional Game Against Rising Cardinals

San Francisco (7-0) at Arizona (3-3-1)

Well last weekend, I picked the Carolina Panthers to pull off an upset win at San Fran. Clearly, that backfired in a big way.

Why?

Because the 49ers really are a fantastic team. They have one of the best defenses in the league, and their offense clearly can be explosive. Perhaps they will not score a ton of points every weekend, like they did last weekend. But they score more than enough points so far this season in order to have won every game, and mostly quite comfortably.

Now, the Cardinals are not the joke that many people - myself included - expected them to be. They look quite good thus far, actually.

That is not to say that they are an awesome team, or even a serious playoff contender...yet. But clearly, they are heading in the right direction.

Remember how inept they looked on offense last season? Yeah, well those days appear to be behind them. They have a hot young quarterback in Kyler Murray, and the future looks very bright indeed for the team from the Arizona desert.

Their defense is actually pretty good as well. All around, they just seem to be in a much better place than they were last season, when they pretty much ended the season as the worst team in the league.

But they are very different this season. Much tougher. Tough enough to perhaps tackle the 49ers and had them their first defeat?

Well, not likely. San Fran just looks too tough, and they may very well be the best team in the NFC, at the very least, and possibly the entire league. Look for them to continue to roll, and remain unbeaten going into November.

My pick: San Francisco
