Trump Suggests Uncertainty Regarding Giuliani Still Being His Attorney

One thing that rather stuns me about the Trump cult is how little they seem to notice that their allegedly fearless leader, who prizes loyalty to himself above all else, actually seems to hold loyalty in low regard when it comes to his own loyalty towards those close to him. There is one example after another of him effectively throwing his friends and allies under the bus, from Steve Bannon to Rex Tillerson to Michael Cohen to Anthony Scaramucci, and probably some others who are not coming to me off the top of my head. All of these were men whom, at one time, Trump praised, essentially praising his own brilliant ability to pick the very best of the best of men to surround himself with and populate his administration.

Then, things turned sour, and Trump could not stand any of them, each in his own turn. Tillerson went against Trump, apparently calling him a “fucking moron,” and Trump went off the rails against him. Against “The Mooch,” Trump pretended as if he had not completely contradicted his own high praise of the man, claiming after the fact that Scaramucci “really didn’t have a clue.”

What does all of that say about the man who picked all of these apparently horrible people?

Then again, an we be surprised? After all, this is a many who not only had multiple affairs, but who bragged about these affairs that he was having. Yet, his supporters conveniently have amnesia when it comes to this inconvenient truth, and laughably hold him up as their poster child for what they call “family values.”

There appeared to be signs that Trump’s loyalty to his own Vice-President was questionable, as he apparently was considering some other possible candidates as a new running mate. Also, he invited reporters to investigate Pence with this whole Ukrainian Clown Posse controversy, although he also quickly added that they would find nothing wrong. Sometimes, it is difficult to decipher what the Trump doublespeak actually means, since he changes his opinions and/or contradicts himself so damn frequently, which is yet another of the many, many alarming things which Trump cultists seem to ignore about their demigod.

Now, Trump finally appear sot have grown tired of one of his closest inside men, who also, not surprisingly has been one of the biggest thorns on his die. Of course, I am talking of none other than Rudy Giuliani, who infamously has contradicted himself while making live television appearances, and even had friendly Fox News television show hosts trying their best to get Giuliani to stop talking before he incriminated himself and his president even further.

What is that saying again?

“With friends like these, who needs enemies?”

Of course, that can be said to be true of the whole Trump administration, especially the man himself. After all, he has shown, time and time again with remarkable consistency, that he has no loyalty to anyone but himself, and to nothing except that which, he feels, makes him look good in his own eyes at the moment. He does not really even seem to care about building some kind of better future for himself or his own legacy, because he cannot resist praise right at that exact moment. And if someone compromises that, as those men mentioned earlier did, then he publicly disowns and shames them.

He now appears to be doing that with his loyal friend and lawyer, Rudy Giuliani. When asked if he was still Trump's lawyer, the president sounded hesitant and unsure:

"I don't know," Trump said Friday when reporters asked him if Giuliani was still his lawyer. "I haven't spoken to Rudy ... He has been my attorney."

When The Washington Post's Josh Dawsey texted Giuliani asking him about Trump's comments and if he was still representing the president, Giuliani replied, "Yes."

Again, with friends like these...and that goes for both Trump and Giuliani. Frankly, the whole administration appears to be populated with simply terrible human beings.

That is the Trump way. He has never shown any loyalty to anyone else, although he demands it of others. Whenever someone dares criticize him and his performance in the nation’s highest office, he either dismisses it as “fake news” or suggests that it is treason. He literally declares that he is above being investigated, much less impeached, and truly seems to believe that not only is he above the law, he is the law.

Those who he betrays will inevitably betray him, too, after all is said and done. Some already have, like Tillerson and “the Mooch,” who have since blasted Trump and his policies, and even his stability, in a very loud manner.

Frankly, it would be entertaining, if you could forget that these are the so-called leaders of the land. And what does it say about the country that such pathetic figures were given such enormous power to begin with? What does it say that a man like Trump would get elected into the highest office in the first place? Even more telling, how can we expect our nation to be taken seriously, much less viewed in a positive light, when Trump has a real chance to win re-election, despite all of this nonsense during his first four years. After all, Trump supporters have not been dissuaded by anything that this man has done. Not his endorsement by white supremacists or his seeming difficulty to call out white supremacists, nor his own racist behavior. Not his pulling the country out of numerous international agreements, breaking the country’s word on these international treaties. Not his inability to make Mexico pay for his damn wall as promised. Not his broken promises to bring back all of the jobs at car manufacturers, or in coal country, both of which strongly supported him in 2016. Not his initiating trade wars against nations around the world, and which has seriously hurt American farmers in particular. Not his incoherent ramblings, his ridiculous tweets, his decidedly unpresidential conduct while occupying the highest office in the land.

Which is why his ultimate betrayal is to the people of the country that he was elected to represent. Because he is a pathetic figure, and deserves to be insignificant. Except since he was elected to the White House, he clearly is not. There is no doubt that everything he does is under the microscope because of the position that he now holds, and that his embarrassing conduct has disgraced the country before the entire rest of the world.
