Yes, the city of Toronto got to cheer their defending NBA champs on Tuesday evening, when the Raptors hosted the Pelicans. It was on this night that the championship banner was unveiled, while the Raptors players received their championship rings in celebration of the NBA title that they won earlier this year.
Then, the Raptors beat the New Orleans Pelicans, 130-122, to open up their season in the best way possible.
Only one other game was played on that day, with the Clippers beating their crosstown rivals, the Lakers, 112-102.
