Trump is the "Look at the Small Print" President

Someone reminded me of this ridiculous Trump story (is there any other kind of news story relating to Trump?) from earlier this year. But I thought it worth repeating, since it is so telling of exactly what kind of president this ridiculous man who embraces so much fake crap has been, even when, typically, he proclaims that the other side is "fake."

One of the main reasons that this absurd man won was his oft-repeated claim that he would not only build a wall, but make out neighbors to the south pay for it, to boot.

"I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words." Candidate Trump, 2016.
Now in 2019, Trump claims that he "obviously never meant Mexico would write a check.”

Trump is the equivalent of those bold fliers that nobody wants, with huge lettering screaming out too good to be true promises, and then explaining away the crucial details that are meant to be buried in the small print. The screaming headline lettering catches your eye, and is meant to. But it is the small print that actually matter with him.

It is meant to make people who bring this Trump promise up look foolish before his crowd. Because despite his repeated assertions that be would Make Mexico pay for the wall, he now claims that he  "obviously" would not make Mexico literally pay for it with a check. He made other promises as well. Bringing back all of those jobs in the coal industry, which he did not. He promises that he would not have time for golf, but it seems that on weekends and holidays (and plenty of other days, too), he has time for little else. He claimed that he would be able to pay the national debt within eight years, but has only added four trillion to that debt since taking office, mostly to pay for his tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans. He promised to make the rest of the world respect the United States. But all that we seem to get from the rest of the world since Trump took power is condemnation of his actions and/or words, and sometimes, even outright laughter, such as when he is portrayed as a gigantic baby with that balloon that flew over London on a couple of occasions, or how he made a speech before the United Nations and was laughed at (the small print FOX News propaganda machine tried to spin it like they were laughing with him, even though he himself expressed that the laughter was not the reaction he had been expecting, much less hoping for).

The small hands president is also the small print president. The snake oil salesman turned leader of this land, because far too many people want to believe in ridiculous things that are obviously not true. And fools keep on explaining away what he actually meant when he said the things that he said, even though they supposedly elected him as a breath of fresh air for saying what he means.

Pathetic.
