Today marks 39 years since John Lennon was gunned down by a madman who had asked for his autograph earlier in the day.
Lennon, of course, was one of the members of the Fab Four. He became an anti-war activist in his post-Beatles career.
Many viewed him as an inspiration, and he continues to be regarded in this light right to the present day.
On the occasion of this sad anniversary, we remember John Lennon.
