🏈 2021-22 NFL Week 3 Thursday Night Football Preview: Undefeated Panthers Take on Texans in Houston 🏈

Carolina (2-0) at Houston (1-1)

Okay, so did anybody necessarily expect the Carolina Panthers, of all teams, to be undefeated entering Week 3, and with a real chance at improving to 3-0? If you did, you had more accuracy in predicting this still new NFL season than I did. That seemed very unlikely. If they got out of their opening game against the Jets with a win, then surely they would lose to the Saints, right? Especially after the Saints made such short work of the perennial NFC powerhouse Green Bay Packers. Yet, the Panthers are indeed 2-0, and looking much better than most people likely expected. And let's face it: the Houston Texans do not exactly feel like some unbeatable team. The Panthers seem to have found a solid defense, at least to this point in the season. The Texans, meanwhile, earned that win against Jacksonville, but then lost last weekend, not surprisingly. They really do not feel like a serious playoff contender, and my own suspicions are that they are vulnerable. The Panthers feel like a team that is hot right at the moment, and so I suspect that they stay hot and remain unbeaten to enter October as one of the league's remaining undefeated teams.

My pick: Carolina
