PSG and Olympique Marseille had a big meeting last weekend. It was a showdown between two of the top teams in Ligue 1, as well as a renewal of one of the most storied rivalries in French football.
As it turns out, despite all that was riding on the game, neither team managed to break through to score a goal, as it ended in a scoreless draw.
One major occurrence was that Achraf Hakimi of PSG received a red card in the 57th minute.
With this draw, PSG earned one point to remain well ahead in the Ligue 1 standings. They have earned 28 points in 11 games played thus far, which gives them a comfortable margin over the second place team, Lens, which has earned 21 points in 11 games played. Nice has 20 points accumulated in 11 games played. Olympique Marseille, meanwhile, is currently in fourth place, having accumulated 10 points after 11 games played, as well.
