🏈🏈 Tom Brady Returns to New England With His New Team 🏈🏈

🏈🏈🏈🏈

Tonight, Tom Brady will go up to New England with his new team, and they will face the Patriots, who of course are Brady's old team.

Yet, there is more riding on this game even than that. Brady needs to throw it for just over 68 yards to pass Drew Brees and become the all-time passing yard leader among quarterbacks. That will be yet another in a long and apparently still growing list of categories in which Brady leads everyone in NFL history. Obviously, he had enjoyed a storied career, but it surely would be extra sweet for him if he can do it on the field at Foxboro, where he enjoyed so many of his greatest successes.

Obviously, this is a huge game, and important to both teams, and not just for the standings. It is important for that, because both teams need wins to keep up in the division. But there is something that obviously goes beyond just two teams playing for positioning within their respective divisions.

This feels like a huge showdown, and the kind of showdown that most people would love to see on the highest level, in the Super Bowl. That seems unlikely, but the only game that I can remember which felt similar was when Joe Montana faced his old team, the 49ers, with his new team, the Kansas City Chiefs. To some extent, I remember the Vikings with Brett Favre at the helm facing the Packers in Green Bay.

Those are not the only examples of former legends from one team facing their old team. Indeed, there is a history there, and it seemed like a good idea to add this link to an article that explores the history of such enormous sports showdowns.

Enjoy!
