⚽️ ⚽️ 2 - Paris Saint-Germain - Lille - 1 ⚽️ ⚽️
PSG earned another win yesterday, this time over Lille, although it required yet another comeback to avoid a letdown. But they managed the feat to ultimately earn a 2-1 win for the home crowd at the Parc des Princes. and maintained their winning ways.
For most of the game, however, it was far from certain that they would indeed manage to avoid what would have been only their second loss this season.
Jonathan David broke through for Lille first, scoring in the 31st minute, following some truly beautiful, textbook passing by his teammates. Then Lille's defense held up, keeping that lead not only through halftime, but indeed, until quite late in the game.
PSG tied it with a goal by Marquinhos in the 74th minute.
Then later, Ángel di María broke through for PSG in the 88th minute after a brilliant feed by Neymar. This goal provided them their first lead of the game, and it came very late and with time running out. Not for the first time this season did a PSG game play out like this.
There was little time left, and PSG managed to hold Lille off for the little bit of time yet remaining in the game to preserve the win. This gives PSG 31 points in 12 games played thus far this season. That is enough to give them a comfortable margin over the second place team, Lens, which has earned 21 points in 11 games played. Nice is in third place with 20 points earned through 11 games, and Olympique Marseille in fourth with 19 points after 11 games played.
