Julian Lennon Releases Cover of “Imagine”
For the first time ever, John Lennon’s first son, Julian Lennon, has released a video where he covers one of his father’s most iconic songs, “Imagine.”
The video was just released. It features a dark backdrop illuminated by numerous candles. Lennon and acoustic guitarist Nuno Bettencourt can be viewed at first from behind, but the view eventually pans to the front. The music is done in guitar, instead of the piano in his father’s original version. However, it is still done beautifully. And Lennon sings it differently than John Lennon did in the original version of the instantly recognizable tune, although he does at times sound reminiscent of his famous father.
It was done for the benefit of the Ukrainian cause. I think that John Lennon would approve.
