Yesterday, I posted about how former members of Pink Floyd had reunited to release the band's first previously unheard song since at least the "Endless River" album from back in 2014. Really, though, this is the only new song that the band has produced since 1994's "Division Bell." That's nearly three decades now! This new release is called "Hey Hey, Rise Up!."
Well, here it is! Above is the video featuring the new song, the newest (and possibly the last) release from the legendary Floyd.
It is a song done in support of the Ukrainian cause, and an anti-war song. The video shows images of protests in support of the Ukrainian cause all around the world, while also showing images from the war itself. It shows Andriy Khlyvnyuk singing, and images of Ukraine itself. Finally, it shows Ukrainian children singing in unison with Khlyvnyuk right at the end.
As for the song itself, it has that distinctive Pink Floyd song, sounding like it could belong on the "Division Bell" album. It features longtime members of Pink Floyd, David Gilmour and Nick Mason, as well as long-time Floyd bassist Guy Pratt. Nitin Sawhney plays on keyboards.
Enjoy!
