Pink Floyd Guitarist David Gilmour Talks About Pink Floyd’s New Song

Pink Floyd Guitarist David Gilmour Talks About Pink Floyd’s New Song

In the last two days, I posted a couple of blog entries about Pink Floyd’s newest song, “Hey Hey Rise Up.”

To be honest, my own impression back in 2014 was that “Endless River,” a sort of album release by Floyd that was mostly just some extra, previously unreleased music dating back to the band’s last full, actual album, “The Division Bell,” which was released back in 1994. In other words, it was almost three decades. Even “Endless River” was released now eight years ago, so it has been the better part of a decade now.

Well, we have to take these little gems whenever they are available. This is the new song by Pink Floyd, the first time that we can say that in almost 30 years. And if we are being honest, most of us would acknowledge that there is a real chance that this will be the last time that Pink Floyd may ever release a new song.

So let’s enjoy it. And this is a video of David Gilmour explaining how the song came about, and how it allowed Pink Floyd the chance to reunite, if only for the one song (at least so far, anyway).
