There were many concerns recently among Jets fans that Aaron Rodgers might actually take the helm for the team before this season is out.
Truth be told, who can blame them? After all, would anything define this franchise more than exactly such a return, followed by Rodgers once again getting injured and needing even more time to recover this time around? Anyone who understands the history of the Jets knows that this scenario - as unlikely as it seems - actually almost feels likely with Gang Green.
As I understand it, though, Rodgers will only play in practice for the team.
Good call, Jets.
Speedy recovery or not, there would simply be no point for Rodgers to play, and risk greater injury, in what are effectively meaningless games the rest of the way.
