Detroit Lions (11-4) at Dallas Cowboys (10-5)
What a huge game! The Lions finally clinched the NFC North division title with a solid win against the Vikings in Minnesota last weekend. They also have been solid on the road this season, compiling a 5-2 record when playing outside of the Motor City.
However, they will be facing the Cowboys, who have been phenomenal at home. Dallas is the only team still sporting an undefeated home record this year, That's right, they are a very impressive 7-0 at home to this point in the season.
Also, the Cowboys are the team much more desperate in need of a win. They simply cannot afford to lose this one. At least not if they still have hopes of winning the NFC East division title. Obviously, they are headed towards the playoffs. But given how dominant they have been at home in "Big D," they surely would love to play at least some playoff games from the comforts of home.
True, the Philadelphia Eagles seem to have the inside track on the division title. If they win out, they will win the division. But if they slip at all, Dallas still has a chance, assuming that they can win out themselves. Of course, if they lose, that will not happen.
So while Detroit is surely riding high after clinching their first division title in three decades, it seems to me that the Cowboys have far more incentive to win this particular game. With that motivation, and with them being just so dominant at home in Dallas, they should come out with this win.
My pick: Dallas
