Cincinnati 27, Cincinnati 24 - What a game! A back and forth game, although it appeared that Minnesota was well on their way to victory. But the Bengals pull off an impressive comeback to force OT, and then win it there in the end. The loss hurts the Vikings, but not as much as a loss likely would have compromised the Bengals playoff hopes and chances. A solid win for Cincy. My pick: Accurate
New Orleans 24, NY Giants 6 - Okay, so I was wrong. I thought that the G-Men had a real chance of winning this one. But they were blown out instead. The Saints showed why they are fighting for the NFC South division title, and currently tied with the Bucs atop that division. As for Big Blue, this one did not officially eliminate them from the postseason, although it now feels like just a matter of time. My pick: Inaccurate
Miami 30, NY Jets 0 - I expected the Dolphins to win. But to shut the Jets out the way that they did? What a game for Miami, especially for their underrated defense. They feel like the inevitable winners of the AFC East, and are still chasing the Ravens for the top seed in the AFC. As for the Jets, a season which began with most fans seemingly expecting a serious Super Bowl run ends officially in mid-December with a 30-pont, shutout loss. What a huge disappointment. My pick: Accurate
Detroit 42, Denver 17 - Boy, was I wrong about this one! The Lions not only won, but they romped. Their offense looked explosive and efficient, while their defense grounded the Russell Wilson and the Broncos. What a solid win, as a division title is just a matter of time now. As for Denver, this loss may have killed some of their momentum, and may have been a devastating blow for their flickering playoff hopes. My pick: Inaccurate
Carolina 9, Atlanta 7- If the Falcons fail to reach the playoffs this year, they can likely go back to this game as the reason. When you go up against the league's worst team, with so much riding on this game, and you lose? Atlanta did not even allow a touchdown, yet their offense could not produce more than the one touchdown. Again, if they fall short of the playoffs, they likely remember this particular game, which feels like it might have been too devastating for the Falcons to recover from. .My pick: Inaccurate
Indianapolis 30, Pittsburgh 13 - A few weeks ago, the Steelers felt like one of the hottest teams in the league. But it seems that right now, they have gone cold. They lost two home games against teams with miserable records, and then lose this one at Indianapolis in blowout fashion. That is three straight losses, as Pittsburgh now finds themselves on the outside of the playoff picture, looking in and needing help now the rest of the way, if they are going to get there. As for the Colts, an impressive win helped to set up a three-way tie atop the AFC South with Houston and Jacksonville. My pick: Accurate
Cleveland 20, Chicago 17 - For a long time during this game, I thought that the Bears had essentially won. They were playing better, the Browns looked largely lifeless, and it just felt like one of those days, if you will. Then suddenly, Cleveland came alive, and it felt like they were destined for a miracle win. They escaped with a win on a day when a loss felt inevitable for most of the afternoon. A solid and impressive win that obviously helps their hopes for qualifying for the playoffs, and possibly even catching the Ravens in the AFC North, although that seems less likely. My pick: Accurate
Kansas City 27, New England 17 - The defending champions won this game, although they didn't exactly do it as easily as some might have expected. Still, a win is a win, and the best teams can still pull off wins when they do not play their best. KC took care of business in a tough environment at Foxboro, as they inch ever closer to the AFC West title. My pick: Accurate
Houston 19, Tennessee 16 (OT) - Just days after the Titans earned themselves a very impressive and electrifying comeback win on the road against the Dolphins, they suffer a crushing defeat at home to their division rival Texans. It was a tough, back and forth battle. physical, as you would expect with the Titans. But the Texans feel hot, and destined for the playoffs. They knocked Tennessee out of contention with this win. My pick: Inaccurate
Tampa Bay 34, Green Bay 20 - I picked the Bucs for this one, because they feel like a streaky team. They begun the season hot, looking like a true contender. Then, they got ice cold, and looked like they would possibly even contend for the first pick in the draft. But right now, once again, they are on fire, and look impressive. And this may just have been their most impressive win of the season to date. My pick: Accurate
San Francisco 45,Arizona 29 - The Cardinals have Kyler Murray back, and he did help his team in this one. But the Niners are one of the best and hottest teams in the league, and they kept rolling, doing everything that they needed in order to win this one. My pick: Accurate
LA Rams 28, Washington 20 - Honestly, I thought that the Rams would have won this one even more convincingly than they did. Still, they took care of business, beating a weaker team at home, and strengthening their playoff hopes. Looking at their schedule, which includes games against the Giants and Saints before closing out their season against the 49ers, things are looking favorable for Los Angeles at this point. My pick: Accurate
Buffalo 31, Dallas 10 - I still feel that the Bills are one of the teams to watch this season, and that if they play their best, they can beat any team in the NFL on any given Sunday. Right now, they are on a roll, and finally showing that they can play with the best teams in the league. After all, they just beat the Chiefs and the Cowboys in consecutive weekends, which is an impressive feat. They left no doubt in this one, handing the Cowboys a humbling loss, and earning another win that should help them reach their goal of the playoffs. My pick: Accurate
Sunday Night Football: Baltimore 23, Jacksonville 7 - The Ravens took care of business, as you would expect them to. Right now, barring something really shocking, they should win the AFC North title. And this is the kind of game that reflects just how tough they may very well be. They earned a tough road win at Jacksonville to retain the number one seed in the AFC, at least for now. It was not pretty. But they did get the job done..My pick: Accurate
Monday Night Football: Seattle 20, Philadelphia 17 - What a game this was! I only caught the final minutes, admittedly, mostly due to severe flooding and numerous road closures in my area. But once I got here, I was able to catch the end of the game, with the Eagles clinging to a 17-13 lead, but Seattle driving. A field goal would do them no good, they needed the touchdown. And Drew Lock, the backup who got the nod for this game, then produced the longest drive of the season for the Seahawks to produce the game-winning touchdown. It was a beautifully placed pass into the corner of the end zone, and caught by Jaxon Smith-Njigba, giving the Seahawks a 20-17 lead (after a successful PAT) with just 28 seconds left in the game. Then, a final desperate pass by Jalen Hurts intended for A.J. Brown instead resulted in a truly spectacular interception by Seattle safety Julian Love, which iced the game. The Eagles went from 10-1, enjoying the best record in the league by a two game margin, to now having been handed three straight losses. My pick: Inaccurate
