Today is my brother's birthday, and it seems entirely appropriate both to acknowledge that here.
In recent years, I have been posting a very different video on the occasion of his birthday: Captain Zoom. It is one of those things that almost only he and I understand, almost like an inside joke.
This year, it seemed like it was time to shift gears a little bit. Do something a little different.
Not even sure if he's familiar with this video, which I loved growing up as a kid. But he knows that I used to sing certain parts of the tune. That, too, became kind of like a running joke between us.

That was a fun clip. Aside from the fact that there was a lot going on visually (astronauts, cosmonauts, etc.), it also featured samples of James Brown and of "You're Gonna Get Yours" from Public Enemy's debut album, which I bought on cassette at the same lake where we saw Roger McGuinn, and which I might still have somewhere all these years later. Thank you.
